ISO 9001 Clause 8.7 requires you to identify and control outputs that don’t conform, so they aren’t used or delivered by mistake. When a part fails inspection, the “control” is often a hold tag and a chain of emails: no register of what’s in quarantine, who authorized the disposition, or whether reworked units were re-verified. Clause 8.7 asks for a controlled record; an auditor asks to see it.

Record the disposition an auditor expects, whether use-as-is (concession), rework, repair, scrap, return to supplier, regrade/downgrade, or segregate, with the approving authority and a justification, so the decision and who made it are on the record.
Containment and quantity
Capture where the nonconforming output is quarantined and how many units are affected, so nonconforming product is segregated and accounted for, not quietly mixed back into stock.
Re-verification after rework
Clause 8.7 requires conformity to be re-verified after rework or repair. Keel makes that an explicit, recorded step, so “fixed and re-checked” is evidence, not an assumption.

What does ISO 9001 Clause 8.7 require?

How is an NCR different from a nonconformity/CAPA?
An NCR (Clause 8.7) controls a specific nonconforming output (this lot, these units) and decides its disposition. A CAPA (Clause 10.2) addresses the underlying cause so it doesn’t recur. They’re related but distinct; Keel lets you raise a linked CAPA from an NCR in one click when root-cause is warranted.
