Why it matters for manufacturing
A manufacturer that already runs ISO 9001 understands managed systems, internal audits, and management review. ISO 27001 uses the same management-system shape, so the muscle is transferable even though the subject is security.
What to focus on
Like ISO 9001, ISO 27001 requires scope, risk management, objectives, internal audits, and management review. If you run a QMS, the ISMS structure will feel familiar.
The 2022 revision has 93 Annex A controls across Organizational, People, Physical, and Technological themes. Physical and operational-technology considerations often matter more here than in a pure software shop.
